Challenge: Create a typographically-led campaign that is a call to
action or raises awareness of your subject.
What is NeuroType?
NeuroType is a type-based campaign dedicated to bridging the communication gap between autistic individuals and their non-autistic counterparts through normalizing and standardizing tone indicators.​​​​​​​



Neurotype Font
By using Noto, the typeface of the world, we hope to bring the fight against ableism to an international scale and allow everyone — regardless of origin, language, or neurotype — to benefit from precise and clear communication.
the Keyboard
Accessibility in its purest form. Google Pixel users can download a specialty keyboard and add tone indicators to the end of messages. All messages will be color-coded according to their tone and meaning, with each tone corresponding to a unique color.
OUT-OF-HOME
Out-of-home media will serve as a public introduction and guide to tone indicators. Advertisements will be posted in groups of three, with each group showcasing a glossary of tone indicators in addition to the impact they have on day-to-day conversations.


EASTER EGG
Need a digital refresher on tone indicators and their use? Users can simply input “tone indicators” into the Google Search engine to quickly see a list of the most popular tone indicators and their meanings.


ACCESSIBILITY SCANNER
Google Accessibility Scanner will allow users to scan messages, emails, and all other forms of text to identify tonal discrepancies and potentially confusing language. After the initial scan, Google Accessibility Scanner will provide additional suggestions to improve clarity and word choice.
